The material included here is an unpublished work which
was compiled by Clarence J. Gamroth from a variety of resources.
Some of the resources
used in this work appear elsewhere in their entirety on
this
website, but are also included here in Mr. Gamroth's work as he
intended them to be.
Mr. Gamroth also compiled the "Independence Historical Album, 1976" for
the city's centennial celebration. That work will also be added
to the "Histories" section of this website under a separate
heading.
Clarence J. Gamroth was born in Independence on 04 Jan
1898.
He died on 14 Aug 1988 at the age of 90 at the Tri-County Memorial
Nursing Home in Whitehall. His full obituary can be found (as a
posthumous
addition to his work) within the "Biographical Data" portion of
his collection below.
This portion of his
collection has been donated to us by the
Independence Public Library. We thank them for this interesting
and valuable contribution.
