Bruce Valley, 1948
Nathaniel Bruce came to Bruce Valley in 1867. He had a farm where
Alex Blaha now lives.
Once there were some Indians who burned all the woods around the early
pioneer. Bruce came up the Mississippi river and then migrated by
oxen to the valley named after him.
George Quackenbush was on of the early settlers. He lived below
Carl Gunem's place. He was an Irishman as was Bruce.
Many of the early settlers came from Norway and took up farming.
