Aged Indian Chief Dies at Flambeau
Chief George Amose (The Little Wasp) of the Flambeau tribe died Monday of this week at Lac du Flambeau at the advanced age of 90. He was the last surviving son of a last reigning chief of the tribe.

Chief Amose, father of the dead chief, was one of the signers of the treaty of 1854 between the Chippewas and the Government. He with two other chiefs and an interpreter and head brave by the name of St.Germaine were at Washington soon after the treaty. The chief dying, Chief Wasaguanahi became head chief to succeed his father. When Wasaguanahi died the present George Amose was made head chief.
It is said that the chiefainship will fall upon Joseph (Amose) Amour now that his father is dead, and that the ceremonial day will soon be called by the tribe.
