SHEPARD son of Thompson SHEPARD, was born near Thornton, Cook Co., Ill., in 1840 and died with apoplexy of the brain, Sept. 26, 1901 near Mellette, Spink Co., S.D. When a small boy he came to Wisconsin with his parents and lived on a farm near Reedsburg. In 1861 he married Lucy Davis and two children were born to them -- Charles and Alta. In 1872 his wife died and later he married Hannah NEWELL. Eight children were born to them all of whom are living -- Ernest, Embor, Eddie, Harley, Frank, Archie, Eliza and Hugh. He leaves a wife and nine children to mourn his loss. All are unmarried except Alta, wife of Dr. F.A. SEEMANN, of Dubuque Iowa. Besides he leaves brothers, Will and Eugene of Kansas, and James of the Hills, S.Dak. Sisters, Mary Powers, of Sioux Valley, Minn., Frances Farnsworth, of Seattle, Washington, and Eva Fischer of Colorado. submitted by: Colleen Boose
