On January 11, 1905 she was united in marriage to Charles G. Retzlaff of the town of Woodland. Most of her married life was spent in the vicinity of Wonewoc, until 1928, when she moved to Lake Delton. In October, 1942, she made a trip to California, to visit her son, Carl, and other relatives. On her return home she was taken ill. She regained her health, which lasted until she had a stroke June 24th, which proved fatal. She passed away Tuesday, June 27th, at 1:30 p.m. Surviving her are her husband, Charles G. Retzlaff, two sons, Harold, who is in the service stationed at Farragut, Idaho, and Carl of Los Angeles, California; five daughters, Mrs. Floyd Reynolds, Mrs. Roger Baumgarth, Mrs. Felix Bertois, Helen and Betty; six grandchildren; one brother, Elmer, of Prairie Du Sac, and several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Retzlaff had a very happy, cheerful disposition and all who knew her loved her. She will be greatly missed by her many relatives and friends. Interment was in the Lake Delton Cemetery. _______ We loved her, yes, weloved her, But angels loved her more, And they have sweetly called her To yonder shining shore. The golden gates were opened A gentle voice said "Come!" and with farewells unspoken She calmly entered home. CARD OF THANKS We wish to thank Rev. George Schiffmayer and all our friends and neighbors for their kindness and sympathy during our bereavement. Charles G. Retzlaff and Family From the Scrapbook of Jennie (Kinglsey) Moon Dowd
