OBITUARY:  REEDSBURG FREE PRESS, REEDSBURG, WI. THURSDAY JANUARY 1, 1914 
                                                         PURDY
  Levi  Purdy was born in Columbia county, Ohio, Oct. 10, 1836 and died at his home in this city December 26, 1913.  He was married in 1861 to Sarah J. Minor.  They came to Wisconsin and settled in Sauk county in 1866.  Twenty-five years ago they moved to Lime Ridge and to Reedsburg about two years ago.  Three sons and 3 daughters came to bless the home, of whom only two boys, Frank and Harry are now living.
  The deceased as a soldier, having enlisted in Co. 179 Ohio Vol. and served one year and nine months.  He was a member of the United Brethern church for over forty years and was always active in church work.
   The funeral was held at the home Sunday conducted by Rev. C. L. Clifford and he was buried in the Lime Ridge cemetery.
