Baraboo News Republic August 5, 1936 Harry Koons Dies in City Wednesday Harry Koons, 76, a resident of Baraboo for 72 years, died Wednesday afternoon at 3:30 o'clock at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Pearce Sansum, where he had been critically ill for the past five weeks. The deceased came to the locality of what is now Baraboo with his parents from Marion, Iowa, in a covered wagon at the age of four years and had since resided here. The family of eight brothers and sisters have all passed away with the exception of Mrs. John Hart of Los Angeles, California. His wife and one daughter also preceeded him in death. Survivors include a family of seven, five daughters and two sons. They are Mrs. George Howard, Mrs. Pearce Sansum, Mrs. Clarence Wing, Ben Koons, Mrs. Earl Pierce, Mrs. Marion Douglas and Frank Koons. All are residents of Baraboo and locality with the exception of Frank who lives in Chicago. Funeral services are to be held Friday afternoon at 2:30 at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Pearce Sansum.
