Reedsburg Free Press Thursday, September 18, 1924 page 5 OBITUARY CONWAY Cecelia Conway was born in the County Mayo, Ireland, March 17, 1837. In the fall of 1856 she emigrated to New York where she married John Conway several years later. In the winter of 1864 she and two children came to Winfield, Wis. to join her husband who had preceded her to prepare a home. On this farm home they reared their family and remained till age caused them to retire from active work when they took up their abode in their present home in this city, where her husband passed to his reward then years ago and she with her daughter Ella remained till death claimed her Sept. 3, 1924. To this union were born eleven children, five of whom with the father have preceded her in death. Martin, Mary, Grace, Hugh and Patrick. Martin P., Mrs. J. R. Trainor, Mrs. C.E. Curtis, John, Michael and Ella remain to mourn her loss. Her last illness of about two weeks, came as quietly and tranquil as her life had been all thru. Scarcely warning enough to caution those about her that death lurked near. Patiently and uncomplainingly she awaited the end that when by death having paid the debt of nature she could return to her Creator of whom she never lost sight. She will be remembered as faithful wife, a kind, loving mother and a patient. unoffending friend and neighbor. The funeral services were held at the Sacred Heart Church in this city. Rev. Fr. Kiernan officiating and her remains, laid to rest in the Winfield cemetery beside her husband and sons.
