Reedsburg Free Press 22 March, 1900, page 2 Mrs. BRIDGET BYRNE died at her residence in Ironton at 9 o'clock p.m., Sunday March 18. Mrs Byrne was born in County Lithrim, Ireland in 1814 and came to America with her husband in 1850. She first came to New Orleans but after a short stay there and on account of yellow fever they came on to Ohio and moved from there to Wisconsin in 1859 where she has lived ever since being 86 years of age. Mrs. Byrne was the mother of ten children, seven of whom are still living, Frank Byrne, of Ironton, Peter Byrne of Kansas, Mrs. Mary Meehan of Hub City, Mrs. Alice Giblin, La Valle, Mrs. Bridget Oharah, Nebraska, Mrs. Anna Burns, Kansas and Miss Ellen Byrne of Ironton. Mrs. Byrne was loved by all who knew her and leaves a large circle of friends to mourn their loss. The funeral took place in the Catholic church, of which she was a true and faithful member, March 20, at 10 a.m. Contributed by Vicki Pierce
