Baraboo Republic May 25, 1881 Death of Jane Baily Jane Baily died May 6th, 1881 at the home of Mr. David G. Randall, Merrimack, Sauk county, Wis., aged 35 yrs. She was born in London, England, in 1845, came with her parents to N.Y. in 1853, and after being detained there some time on account of the sickness of the mother, the family moved to Wisconsin and settled in Grant county, near Boscobel. Her father died in about a year after, leaving his widow with six children to support, Jane being the second daughter. She came to Merrimack in 1868 and has since lived in the family of Mr. Hiram Baily. She was married in 1870 to Mr. Addison Baily, who died about four years after. Her mother died in 1871. Her life was one of trouble and hardship, but pure, and her character was unblemished. The deep sympathy manifested at the funeral on Sunday was evidence of the high esteem in which she was held by the community. She leaves two bright little boys, Charley, aged 10, and George, aged 7.
