*According to Cindy Douglas at the Saukville HistoricalSociety, This building is no longer. It once stood where the current Oscar GradyLibrary stands, but further back from South Main Street . When the current buildingthat we see now as the library was built in 1924, the school building in the colorpost card was MOVED to the corner of Highway 33 and South Main Streets! It was calledat one time the Firemen’s Hall. My mom and dad held their wedding reception therein June 1946 when they married. It was used by many people for parties and such.I remember as a little girl (1st – 2nd grade age) the nuns used to walk us kids downthere to watch school plays put on by the older students from St. Mary’s School (nowknown as Immaculate Conception Church). So, there are many memories there! It wastorn down in 1961 and a new fire station was built there in 1962. It is now knownas “Patrice’s” (restaurant).
