Peter Watry Sr. Family


This photograph is thought to have been taken at the time ofMr. & Mrs. Peter Watry Sr.'s 50th wedding anniversary in May, 1917. Read the news article describing the celebration.
 
 

Peter Watry Sr. was born on the voyage to America with his parents.  He and Catharine were married in Begium township in 1867.  Shortly thereafter, they moved to Port Washington township.  Around the turn of the century, Peter Sr. was Port's Marshall.  My grandmother said there was some issue about it at the time because he was not born in America.
