Historical Note: Mr. W. H. Riemer (2nd childof Goust and Alma RIEMER b. 1910 in Thiensville) remembers the building of the TrinityEvangelical Lutheran Church in Freistadt. He remembers the walls in the basementwere three feet thick. The area residents hauled rocks to use in the construction.Everyone wanted to bring the largest stone. The competition became so fierce theybroke the axles on their wagons with the oversized loads. The blacksmith had a buildingboom that kept him smiling for months. The entire Riemer family attended the church.
