Anna Maria Boehner, my great-great grandmother, (Maiden name Schmidt-various spellings), born December 28th 1821 in Flomborn, Darmstadt, Germany, died on December 13th 1908 .... Saukville Ozaukee Co Wis. Buried on December 16th 1908 at churchyard of the Evangelical Lutheran Parish of St. John in Fredonia, Wisconsin.
 
This is Anna Maria in front of her log cabin in Fredonia.

CENSUS 1860 Town of Saukville, Ozaukee Co., WI M653-Roll 1425; Page 176, Lines 14-19, The 1860 federal census lists "Henry" as being 53 yrs. old, owning $500 worth of real estate and marrried to 39 yr. old Anna Maria, 14 years his junior.

CENSUS 1880 Town of Saukville, Ozaukee Co., WI, T9-Roll 1441, Page 7 (457) Lines 44-45, Nat'l Archives, Pacific Southwest Region. The 1880 federal census lists Henry as 74 and his wife, Mary, as 60, still 14 years his junior. On his death certificate (1895) his spouse is listed as Maria Schmitt.
 
Henry was a farmer by occupation.

Heinrich Boehner personally appeared before the subscriber, Clerk of the Circuit Court in said County, being a Court of Record, and made oath that he was born in Darmstadt on or about the year Eighteen Hundred and seven that he emigrated to the United States and landed at the port of New York on or about the month of May in the year Eighteen Hundred and fourty seven that it is bona fide his intention to become a CITIZEN of the UNITED STATES, and to renounce all allegiance and fidelity to any foreign Prince, Potentate, State or Sovereignty whatever, particularly to  Ludwig Gr. (i.e. Grand) Herzog (i.e. duke) of Darmstadt whereof he is subject.

Married in Saukville, b. in Fredonia, moved to California.  Likely this was her parents home in that area.



These are my great-great grandparents on my mother's side.
 
On Jacob's death record it shows that he was a farmer who lived 77 years 10 months. He was born in Germany.  His wife's name was Margarritta (sp?). Primary cause of death is listed as: jandice (sic); secondary is listed as: chronic.   Place of death is shown as: near Fredonia Station. 
Duration of disease = 5 months.  Deceased was never a soldier or sailor. Place of burial = Fredonia. Undertaker = Herman Rudolph. Date of death certificate and burial permit = May 12, 1899.

June 1, 1880 federal census lists Jacob as 58, Margaretha as 57.
