Aloys Wester


Aloys Wester, 79, of 619 Main St., Belgium, died Saturday at St. Alphonsus Hospital, Port Washington, after a brief illness.

He was born Nov. 18, 1894 in the Town of Belgium, the son of the late Henry J. and Barbara Hemmen Wester.

On May 25, 1920 he married Rose Ansay at Port Washington.

The couple celebrated their golden wedding anniversary in 1970.

Mr. Wester farmed in the Town of Belgium until 1946, after which he was employed by the Village of Belgium until his retirement in 1960.

He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, Lake Church, its Holy Name Society, Catholic Order of Foresters and Catholic Knights.

Survivors are his widow; three daughters, Mrs. Herbert (Beatrice) Krier and Mrs. Gordon (Mary) Thill, both of Belgium, and Mrs. Robert (Blanche) Thill of Port Washington; two sons, Bertram of Belgium and James of Port Washington; 22 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; three sisters, Mrs. Lillian Lanser, Miss Frances Wester, and Mrs. Olga Schueller, all of Belgium, and three brothers, Nic and Henry, both of Belgium, and Charles of Thiensville.

Funeral Mass will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Mary Church, Lake Church. The Rev. Ermin Fruend and Msgr. Ranor Hausman will be celebrants. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.

Friends may call at the Jungers Funeral Home, Dacada, after 3 p.m. today. A parish vigil will be held there at 7:30 this evening, with a Foresters and Catholic Knights vigil at 8 p.m.
