Mrs. Elizabeth Schanen

Mrs. Elizabeth Schanen, 85, of 525 W. Chestnut St., Port Washington, died Sunday at St. Alphonsus Hospital in Port Washington.

A life-long resident of Ozaukee County, she was born in the Town of Port Washington on Jan. 18, 1881, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Phil Thoma. She married Domonic Schanen in 1906.

Mrs. Schanen was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Port Washington, and of the Christian Mothers Society of the parish.

Survivors include one son, Lawrence, Port Washington; three grandchildren, and a sister, Mrs. Mary Holz, Cedar Lake. One daughter also preceded her in death.

Funeral services will be held at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Mary Catholic Church, Port Washington, with the Rev. Edgar Braun, pastor, celebrant of the requiem Mass. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Friends may call at the Poole Funeral Home after 2 p.m. Tuesday. The Christian Mothers Society will hold a vigil at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
