Mrs. Ida Schaefer


Funeral services for Mrs. Ida Schaefer, 80, of 129 S. Webster St., Port Washington, who died Saturday at the Heritage Nursing Home, Port Washington, will be held Tuesday at Frieden's United Church of Christ, Port Washington.

The Rev. Christopher Boland, pastor, will officiate at the 2 p.m. services. Burial will be in the Port Washington Union Cemetery.

Friends may call at the Poole Funeral Home, Port Washington, from 4 p.m. Monday until 11:30 a.m. Tuesday and at the church until the time of services.

The former Ida Scharl was born in Port Washington on Sept. 10, 1886, a daughter of the late Anton and Anna Hoppe Scharl. On July 30, 1913, she was married to Charles Schaefer in Port Washington. The couple celebrated their golden wedding anniversary in 1963.

Mr. Schaefer died Aug. 23, 1964.

Mrs. Schaefer was a member of the Pythian Sisters, the Order of Eastern Star, Senior Citizens and the Senior Guild of Frieden's United Church of Christ.

Survivors include four sons, Ray, Walter, Herbert and Charles Jr., all of Port Washington; 11 grandchildren and two great grandchildren; one brother, William of Port Washington, and one sister, Mrs. Frank Muldoon of Hot Springs, Ark.
