"Gustave Mertzdorf, aged 77, died Saturday evening athis home in the Town of Fredonia, after a very brief illness. The remains were broughtto the David G. Wilk funeral home to be prepared for burial. The funeral was heldWednesday with services at the home at 1:30 p.m. and later at St. John’s Ev. LutheranChurch at Fredonia, of which he was a life long member. The Rev. R.G.F. Jagow, pastorof the congregation, conducted the services, and burial was made in the adjoiningcemetery."
