Liebl/Liebel Family

I have just started to work on my Liebl/Liebel family that lived in Fredonia Wis. Under Fredonia History, my gr gr gr grandfather, Andrew Liebl, is listed Poll-list for 1847. In 1850, his name is listed as Andrew Leible age 55 and wife Anna. His son Joseph, my gr gr grandfather, left the area after his first wife (Maria) died in 1869. Joseph and Maria's daughter, Theresa's, baptism was at the Mother of Sorrow Church. Andrew's son, John, stayed in the area. He is listed on the 1900 Ozaukee county Directory in Fredonia Station.

August and Theodore Liebl's tombstone photos are online in St. Mary's Cemetery (shown on the
Tombstone Photograph Project page). They were John and Maria Liebel's children (grandchildren to Andrew). In the 1870 census, John and Mary's children were Anna, August, Theodore, Mary and John Jr.
