In 1927, the Brandon Times republished a list of Metomen's registered voters for 1868. The list originally appeared in the Times edition of October 17, 1868, and was alphabetized only on the first letter of the last name. It has been fully alphabetized here for ease of reference. The list and text from the 1927 article follow as written (punctuation added), courtesy of Twilah DeBoer. Prominently omitted is Jacob Carter, one of the pioneer settlers of Metomen. Carter was recorded in the 1870 census, and remained a resident of the township until his death in 1890.

| J. C. Bush has a copy of the Times for
Saturday, October 17, 1868, in which a list of the registered voters of the Town of
Metomen was printed. There are 312 names in it. The paper was then published by G. M.
West, who had his office in the depot. The name of Yorty appears six times in the list while those of Norris, Cole, and Lockin are reproduced four times each. Many other names appear two and three times each. |
