Claude Elliott - On February 04, 1905 The following "blurb" in Sporting Life accompanied the
page 5 insert of the Cabinet Photo of Claude (Now Baseball Card : W600 series No.118). Sporting Life Devoted to Base Ball, Trap Shooting and General Sports
Philadelphia "Pitcher Elliott has had a brief but very promising professional career. He is a native of Pardeeville, Wis., where he learned to play ball. His first
professional experience was with the Rockford Club in the Indiana-Illinois-Iowa League in 1902. He made a star record as a pitcher,
outfielder and batter. In 1903 he signed with the Milwaukee Club and that season was one of the star pitchers of the American Association. In the
fall of 1903 he was purchased by the Cincinnati National League Club. In July 1904 he was purchased by the New York Club, which used him for emergency
pitcher, with gratifying results." Note a few inaccuracies: 1/ Claude first played for Rockford in 1899, not 1902, after four years in Wisconsin and Michigan Leagues.
2/ He signed and played for Milwaukee in 1902, not 1903.
C. H. Lohr Billiards & Pool Hall Columbus - Charles Henry "Charlie" Lohr operated this establishment at 119 E. James St. in downtown Columbus for 35 years, beginning around 1910 until his retirement in 1944. The establishment's name eventually changed to Lohr's Buckhorn Tavern and was next operated by Charlie's son, Paul "Duke" Lohr. Duke was a coronet player with John Phillip Souza's marching band, perfoming Liberty loan drives during WWI throughout the US and Canada. Duke operated the tavern until the 1960's, at which time it was sold. [L-R]: Charles Lohr, and sons Gerald and Harold Lohr.

John & Hannah Eagen - This is a photo of John Eagen, Jr. and his wife Hannah Florence Griffin they farmed in the Pardeeville area for many years. John and Hannah were married in Pardeeville Oct. 31 1900. They had 11 children most were born in Columbia Co. John was born May 8, 1873 and died November 7, 1949, Hannah was born July 7, 1883 and died Oct. 19, 1958 both are buried in the St. Augustine-
Rocky Run Cemetery in Wyocena.

William & Ann Eliza McElroy - William McElroy b. 2/2/1832 d. 6/12/1920 and Ann Eliza Stanton McElroy b. 5/4/1841 d. 6/8/1918. They settled in the Town of Marcellon, Columbia Co. in 1869 and farmed on Section 22 until their deaths. Their descendants still farm the same land today. They are buried in Marcellon Cemetery.
