![]() Albert Joseph Jacques Mercier - 24 March 1871 - 23 August 1944 Albert's parents were Hyacinthe Octave Mercier and Marie Adelina Boulard. Albert was born in Canada in 1871. In March of 1891, Albert entered the United States at Port Huron. On November 2, 1896, Albert made his Declaration of Intent. He made application for citizenship on September 23, 1913. Albert Joseph Mercier received citizenship on April 18, 1914. It was recorded at the Circurt Court of Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin. Petition and Record Vol 4 Dec Vol F Pg 459 NO 341 36. Albert worked as a lumberjack at Ruby Sawmill. In the last 1800's, Albert was a forman for a logging company, owned by Joseph (Joe) Bernier, in Colburn, Wisconsin. Joseph Beaudin, Albert's brother - in - law, also worked for Bernier. Albert was a skilled carpenter building several homes, schools (The Little Red School House) and farm buildings in the Colburn area. Albert and Agnes were married at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Boyd, Chippewa, Wisconsin. Father Nau officiated. Witnesses were Ludger Beaudin and Mary Beaudin, brother and sister to Agnes Beaudin.
