Miss Mary Hopkins
"Mary
Hopkins of Cumberland was selected as Wisconsin's 26th Alice in Dairyland
on June
15,
1973. During her reign as a full-time one year employee of the Wisconsin
Department of
Agriculture,
she travelled about 80,000 miles throughout the United States promoting
and
representing
Wisconsin and its products. Her more than 800 appearances during the year
included
TV and radio shows, speaking engagements, Wisconsin hostess and representative
at
national
and international gatherings, Wisconsin promotions, fairs and agricultural
events."
